About

Yurari is a compact, contemporary inn on the southern edge of the Gero onsen district 窶 newer construction, cleaner lines, and a business model built around private rental baths rather than large communal facilities. Every room booking includes a reserved time slot in one of four private open-air rotenburo, meaning guaranteed private access to the spring water without the communal bath social dynamic. The rental baths are fed by the same Gero alkaline source spring as the major inns (gen'sen kakenagashi). No large communal bath exists on the property 窶 every soak is private. For solo travelers, couples who prefer privacy, guests uncertain about communal onsen etiquette, or anyone with tattoos, Yurari removes the anxiety while fully preserving the spring water quality. Kaiseki is a set Hida-style menu with limited substitutions, but consistently fresh seasonal and Hida beef ingredients. Access: southern onsen district, 12-minute walk from Gero Station. Rates run ツ・18,000窶督・32,000 per person with two meals [verified en.json 2026-05-25].
