Ryokan Ohana

Ryokan Ohana traces its history to the Edo period as the private residence of the Tachibana clan, lords of the Yanagawa domain. The 14th head of the family transformed the estate into a modern Japanese-style mansion during the Meiji era; in 1950 the 16th-generation head converted it into a ryotei ryokan, beginning a 75-year hospitality legacy. The 8,000 mﾂｲ site 窶� including the Western-style Western Guest House, the 100-mat Daikoma Hall, and the celebrated Shotoen pine garden (all built in 1910 / Meiji 43) 窶� is a designated national place of scenic beauty, the only such site in Japan where overnight guests can stay. After an extensive 2024-2025 renovation guided by the concept of creating a timeless space for the next century, all rooms and the lobby were reimagined while preserving the cultural fabric.
