What should I wear at the ryokan?

Upon arrival, you'll be provided with a yukata (light cotton robe) and a pair of slippers. You can wear the yukata throughout the ryokan — to dinner, to the onsen, and even for a stroll in the neighborhood. Indoor slippers should be removed before stepping on tatami mats.

Is English spoken at Takumi no Yado Yoshimatsu?

Takumi no Yado Yoshimatsu has limited English support. We recommend using a translation app or asking your hotel concierge to help with any pre-arrival communication. The staff is very welcoming and will do their best to assist.

Can guests with tattoos use the baths?

Takumi no Yado Yoshimatsu's official site says guests with tattoos may use the shared baths only if the tattoos are covered. Ask the inn what size it accepts covered. It does offer a private bath you can reserve, which guests with tattoos can use.

Fuji. Seven of its rooms carry a private open-air bath, a figure the inn states itself. Dinner is kaiseki served in the room. A free shuttle runs from Hakone-machi bus station and the lake shore is five minutes on foot. The Fuji view is from the grounds rather than from the rooms: the inn's own photograph looks across Lake Ashi over the village roofs, and its guest-room and bath windows face wooded ridges and the courtyard.
